Michelle, we hardly knew ya.

Okay, maybe we knew ya too much.

Long ago and far away, we anxiously expected Michelle to ride in on a donkey in 2020.

She teased, but never delivered.

Part of why we pushed so hard for Michelle to run was the spectacle of it all, particlarly versus Trump.

But surely in 2024, with Joey Babbles sinking in the polling? Democrats: Save Us Michelle! (May 23, 2023):

Joe Biden’s approval ratings are in the sewer, and a majority of Democrats want someone else to be the nominee in 2024. A supermajority of Americans don’t want another rematch of Biden v. Trump.

Enter one Michelle Obama.

Or at least the thought of Michelle Obama….

We are now in Barack Obama’s third term, with the Team Obama running Biden doing damage beyond their wildest dreams.

But to complete the fundamental transformation of the nation laid out by Barack Obama, a fourth term is needed. And it’s far from clear that Biden is the guy to do it, or Kamala Harris.

Alas, Michelle seems content to live the lifestyle of the rich and famous, and will not be running in 2024, NBC reports:

Former President Barack Obama has said he’s “all in” for President Joe Biden’s re-election effort. But a question nagging at many Democrats is what role his popular spouse might play.

Democrats nervously looking ahead to November say they want to see Michelle Obama playing a bigger role in the campaign. Some even whisper about the possibility that she might replace a politically hobbled incumbent on the 2024 ticket this summer — making her a fantasy candidate for members of both parties, albeit for different reasons….

“As former First Lady Michelle Obama has expressed several times over the years, she will not be running for president,” said Crystal Carson, director of communications for her office. “Mrs. Obama supports President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ re-election campaign.”

She will “not be running.” I’m still not so sure, Democrats may demand it at the convention if Joey Babbles seems poised to lose.
